the-daughterMark Bradshaw has recently composed the music for the drama The Daughter. The film marks the feature directorial debut of theatre director Simon Stone and stars Paul Schneider, Ewen Leslie, Geoffrey Rush, Mirando Otto, Anna Torv, Odessa Young and Sam Neill. The movie follows a man who returns home to discover a long-buried family secret and whose attempts to put things right threaten the lives of those he left years before. Stone also wrote the screenplay. Jan Chapman (The Piano, Holy Smoke) and Nicole O’Donohue are producing the Fate Films production. Bradshaw has previously scored the Chapman-produced Bright Star. His other previous scoring credits also include Jane Campion’s mini-series Top of the Lake. The Daughter just premiered at the Sydney Film Festival. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal and release date.
