patrick-doylePatrick Doyle has been selected as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award at the closing-night gala of the 15th World Soundtrack Awards at the Ghent Film Fest on October 24, 2015. The composer is known for his various collaborations on films directed by Kenneth Branagh, including Henry VMuch Ado About NothingMary Shelley’s FrankensteinThorJack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and this year’s Cinderella. He received two Academy Award nominations for his music for Branagh’s Hamlet and Ang Lee’s Sense and Sensibility. His other film scoring credits include Pixar’s Brave, Harry Potter and the Goblet of FireRise of the Planet of the ApesNanny McPheeBridget Jones’s Diary, Alfonso Cuaron’s Great Expectations, Robert Altman’s Gosford Park, Mike Newell’s Donnie Brasco and Brian DePalma’s Carlito’s WaySelections of the composer’s music will be performed live by the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Dirk Brosse at the event. Among the composers that were previously honored with the award are John Barry, Marvin Hamlisch, Pino Donaggio, Francis Lai, Giorgio Moroder and Angelo Badalamenti. In addition, the music of Alan Silvestri (Back to the FutureForrest Gump) and DanieL Pemberton (The Counselor, Steve Jobs) will also be celebrated at the concert.
