david-wingoDavid Wingo is reteaming with director David Gordon Green on the upcoming political comedy drama Our Brand Is Crisis. The film stars Sandra Bullock. Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, Scoot McNairy, Zoe Kazan, Ann Dowd, Reynaldo Pacheco, Dominic Flores, Louis Arcella, Octavio Gomez Berrios and Joaquim de Almeida. The movie is based on the 2005 documentary of the same title and follows a group of American consultants who accept the challenge of getting an unpopular Bolivian president re-elected. Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier SpyThe DebtThe Men Who Stare at Goats) wrote the screenplay. George Clooney & Grant Heslov (ArgoGood Night, and Good Luck.The Monuments Men) are producing the project through their Smokehouse Pictures production company. Wingo and Gorden Green have previously collaborated on such films as All the Real Girls, George WashingtonSnow Angels, The Sitter, Prince Avalanche, Joe and ManglehornOur Brand Is Crisis is currently in post-production and will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures. A release later this year or in 2016 is expected.

As previously reported, Wingo’s upcoming projects include the zombie thriller Maggie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, which will be released this Friday, May 8 by Roadside Attractions/Lionsgate, as well as Jeff Nichols’ Midnight Special starring Michael Shannon & Kirsten Dunst, which is scheduled for a release on November 25, 2015 by Warner Bros.
