brian-tylerBrian Tyler has been hired to score the upcoming political drama Truth. The film marks the directorial debut of screenwriter James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man, Zodiac, White House Down) and stars Robert Redford, Cate Blanchett, Topher Grace, Elisabeth Moss, Bruce Greenwood and David Lyons. The movie is based on the 2005 memoir Truth and Duty by Mary Mapes about a series of memos critical of President George W. Bush’s Texas Air National Guard service record that had been discovered in the files of the president’s former commanding officer. Vanderbilt has also written the screenplay and is producing the project through Mythology Entertainment company, alongside Brad Fischer (Shutter Island, Zodiac), Doug Mankoff, Andy Spaulding , Mikkel Bondesen and William Sherak. Tyler has previously scored several movies produced by Sherak, including Darkness Falls, Bangkok Dangerous, Middle Men and Columbus Circle, which the composer also co-executive produced. Truth is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.

Tyler whose music is currently featured in the record-breaking sequel Furious 7 also has Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as next year’s sequel Now You See Me: The Second Act coming up.
