the-passion-of-the-christ.jpgLast month, La Pasión Oratorio, inspired by the Oscar-nominated score for The Passion of the Christ composed by John Debney was performed at the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in Spain as part of Holy Week. 6,000 people attended the concert, which was conducted by Kevin Kaska and performed by Córdoba Orchestra and Choir Ziryab along with performers from the film’s score, including woodwind player Pedro Eustache and vocalist and soloist Lisbeth Scott. The event, which was created through the collaboration between the Diputación of Córdoba through its Department of Culture and the Film Music Festival brand, was the first orchestral concert at the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in over 40 years. La-La Land Records has recently released a 2-disc expanded The Passion of the Christ album, which is available on Amazon and includes over 70 minutes of unreleased material and new album notes from director Mel Gibson and composer John Debney.
