The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has announced the nominations for this year’s Saturn Awards. The winners will be announced at the 41st Annual Saturn Awards ceremony on June 25.
Here are the nominees in the Best Film Music category:
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier – Henry Jackman
- Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – Michael Giacchino
- Godzilla – Alexandre Desplat
- The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies – Howard Shore
- How to Train Your Dragon 2 – John Powell
- Interstellar – Hans Zimmer
Um yeah, I really (and I mean really) enjoyed the Captain America score from Jackman unlike most others. But, he doesn’t even stand a chance with everyone else on that list, lol.
Winter Soldier, but no Boxtrolls? No Maleficent? No Snowpiercer? I smell a fix.
When I first spotted the Winter Soldier, I thought that this award were like a Golden Raspberry of the film scores.
it has to be Interstellar right? it just has to be!
No James Newton Howard? Well at least Howard Shore got another nod.
Remove Captain America and put in Maleficent and you’ve got a pretty great list of Scores. I’m getting completely sick of awarding bodies not recognising James Newton Howard.
