david-hirschfelderDavid Hirschfelder is attached to score the upcoming romantic drama The Olive Sisters. The film is directed by Fred Schepisi (Roxanne, The Russia House, Six Degrees of Separation) and stars Simon Baker, Leslie Mann, Anthony LaPaglia, Jacki Weaver, Melissa George, Gia Carides, Josh Lucas and Alexandra Schepisi. The movie is based on Amanda Hampson’s bestselling novel of the same title and follows a successful New York businesswoman whose life falls apart and is forced to move to the small rural community of Duffy’s Creek, Australia and the run-down olive grove she has inherited from her grandparents. Bonnie Burgess is producing the project for Sorelle Productions, alongside James M. Vernon (John Doe: Vigilante) for Screen Corporation. Schepisi’s last movies movies, including last year’s Words and Pictures were scored by Paul Grabowsky. The Olive Sisters is expected to begin production shortly. (Deadline)

As previously reported, Hirschfelder also has the comedy The Dressmaker starring Kate Winslet coming up. The composer also has scored Russell Crowe’s directorial debut The Water Diviner, which opened in Australia in December and will be released stateside on April 24, 2015 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
