lifeOwen Pallett is composing the music for the upcoming drama Life. The film is directed by Anton Corbijn (Control) and stars Robert Pattinson, Dane DeHaan, Joel Edgerton and Ben Kingsley. The movie is inspired by the true story of a friendship that developed between Magnum photographer Dennis Stock and actor James Dean when Stock was commissioned to photograph the actor for LIFE magazine in 1955. Luke Davies (Candy, Reclaim) has written the screenplay. Christina Piovesan (The Whistleblower, Amreeka), Benito Mueller, Wolfgang Mueller, Iain Canning & Emile Sherman (he King’s Speech, Shame) are producing the project. Corbijn’s previous two movies The American and A Most Wanted Man were scored by German pop star Herbert Gronemeyer. Pallett is best known for co-scoring Spike Jonze’s Her with Arcade Fire, for which he received an Academy Award nomination last year. His other scoring credits include Richard Kelly’s The Box and 2013’s The Wait. Life is set to premiere later this month at the Berlin Film Festival.
