philip-glassDirector Josh Trank revealed in a recent interview with Collider that Philip Glass is co-scoring the upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four. The composer will be collaborating with Marco Beltrami who was previously announced to score the film starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Reg E. Cathey and Tim Blake Nelson. The movie centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways and who must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy. Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and Jeremy Slater have written the screenplay based on the Marvel Comics series. Kinberg also serves as a producer on the project, alongside Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) and Gregory Goodman. The Fantastic Four will be released on August 7, 2015 by 20th Century Fox.

I can’t even begin to imagine what will come out from a collaboration between Phillip Glass and Marco Beltrami on a super-hero blockbuster. Really unexpected and bold choice by Trank.

Too bad it’ll be for this snorefest and not Doctor Strange.
