song-of-the-seaDecca Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature Song of the Sea. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Chorus) who previously scored the director’s Academy Award-nominated feature The Secret of Kells. The composer collaborated with Kila on the score. Also featured are the songs from the movie by Nolwenn Leroy. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 9, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Song of the Sea is directed by Tomm Moore and features the voices of Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan, Pat Shortt, Jon Kenny, Liam Hourican, Colm Ó’Snodaigh, Lucy O’Connell, Kevin Swierszcz, David Rawle and Lisa Hannigan.The movie follows a young brother and sister must unlock the magical secrets of their ancestry in order to find their way home. The animated feature premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be released in the U.S. on December 19 by GKIDS. Visit the official movie website to learn more about the film.

    Praying that they release the soundtrack here in the U.S. Nolwenn Leroy is one of my favorite singers. She should be a star in America and this movie might help make that happen. I was very fortunate to be at her first performance in the United States (in NYC) a few years ago.
