whiplashOpening in limited release is the indie drama Whiplash written and directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Miles Teller, J.K. catch-hellAlso opening in select markets is the indie thriller Catch Hell directed and co-written by Ryan Phillippe who also stars in the film alongside Joyful Drake, James DuMont and Stephen Louis Grus. The film’s original music is composed by The Newton Brothers (OculusLife of CrimeDetachmentHigh School). No word yet on a soundtrack release. Catch Hell follows a former Hollywood star who is kidnapped by two men connected to his past while on location in Louisiana and soon discovers the real motives of his captors. The movie is being released by Phase 4 Films and is now also available on VOD.

Youre_Not_You_1Also opening in select theaters is the drama You’re Not You directed by George C. Wolfe and starring Hilary Swank, Emmy Rossum, Josh Duhamel, Loretta Devine, Ernie Hudson, Frances Fisher, Marcia Gay Harden, Ali Larter, Jason Ritter, Julian McMahon and Andrea Savage. Jeanine Tesori who previously scored Wolfe’s Nights in Rodanthe has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been announced. You’re Not You centers on the relationship of a woman who has been immobilized by ALS, and Rossum and a self-absorbed college student hired to be her caregiver in spite of her husband’s objection. The drama is being released stateside by Entertainment One Films.
