mystery-girlsMissing from last week’s TV music roundup was the new ABC Family comedy Mystery Girls created by Tori Spelling & Shepard Boucher (Men at Work) and starring Spelling, Jennie Gart and Miguel Pinzon. The show’s original music is composed by Bert Selen (Rules of EngagementLab Rats). The series follows two former detective TV show starlets who are brought back together by a real-life mystery. Mystery Girls premiered on June 25 and will air every Wednesday night on ABC Family. girl-meets-worldAnother show that premiered this past week is the comedy Girl Meets World created by Michael Jacobs & April Kelly and starring Rowan Blanchard, Ben Savage, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton Meyer and August Maturo. The show is a sequel to this hit ABC comedy Boy Meets World and follows the pre-teenage daughter of that show’s characters Cory and Topanga Matthews, as they navigate the challenges of life. Ray Colcord (Dinosaurs, Promised Land) who previously scored numerous episodes of the original is providing the show’s original score. Matthew Tishler, Maria Christensen & Shridhar Solanki have written the theme song Take on the World. Girl Meets World will air every Friday night on the Disney Channel.
