years-of-living-dangerouslyThomas Newman is composing the theme for the upcoming Showtime original documentary series Years of Living Dangerously. Richard Marvin is providing the score for the show, which will explore the effects of climate change in different parts of the world. The environmental docu-series will feature appearances by Matt Damon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Jessica Alba, Don Cheadle, America Ferrera, Michael C. Hall, Olivia Munn, Chris Hayes, Dr. M. Sanjayan and Ian Somerhalder. James Cameron is executive producing the project with Jerry Weintraub, Schwarzenegger, Emmy-winning producers Joel Bach & David Gelber (60 Minutes) and climate expert Daniel Abbasi. Composer iZLER was previously attached to score the show as reported last fall. Newman has previously scored the theme for HBO’s acclaimed hit drama Six Feet Under, while Marvin provided the underscore. Years of Living Dangerously is set to premiere on April 13, 2014 and will air every Sunday night on Showtime. To learn more about the series, visit the official show website.

Also coming up for Newman is Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, which has been pushed back to November 2015 since our last update. The composer has recently won a Grammy Award for his work on Skyfall and received an Academy Award nomination for Saving Mr. Banks. Marvin also continues to score the NBC hit drama Grimm.
