Terence Blanchard is currently recording his score for the upcoming drama Black and White. The film is written and directed by Mike Binder and stars Kevin Costner, Octavia Spencer, Jennifer Ehle, Gillian Jacobs, Andre Holland, Bill Burr, Mpho Koaho and Jillian Estell. The movie follows a grieving widower who is fighting for custody of his bi-racial granddaughter with the girl’s paternal grandmother and his drug addict son-in-law, who he blames for his own daughter’s death. Binder is also producing the project through his Sunlight Productions company, alongside Costner for Treehouse Film and Todd Lewis. The director has previously collaborated with such composers as Alexandre Desplat (The Upside of Anger), Rolfe Kent (Reign Over Me) and Larry Groupe (Man About Town). Black and White is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2014.
