american-hustleMadison Gate Records will release the official soundtrack album for David O. Russell’s comedy drama American Hustle. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Duke Ellington, Elton John, The Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Tom Jones, Jeff Lynne, Chris Stills, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Mayssa Karaa, Wings and Jack Jones. Also included is a track from the film’s original score composed by Danny Elfman who previously scored the director’s Silver Linings Playbook. The soundtrack will be released on December 6, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. American Hustle starring Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lawrence tells the the story of a brilliant con man who, along with his seductive British partner is forced to work for a wild FBI agent who pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers.     Danny Elfman’s OK and all but I think Hans Zimmer should score it. He’s the best and can pretty much make everything sound epic.

    Only 2 minutes of Danny’s score? Big dissapointment, and the sample sounds quite interesting. Hopefully there’s more score and we get the release like Silver linings Playbook. There must be 20 – 30 minutes of score in the film

    It’s a very mediocre and obvious line up for the soundtrack. I have no doubt that Mr. Elfman will have a seperate (digital only) release for his score. The cue sampled here is too weak to judge.
