  1. Jeff T. says:

Wow, didn’t see this coming! Would have loved to see Powell scoring the film, but based on Djawadi’s work on Pacific Rim, this should be somethimg to look forward to as well.

  2. Macejko says:

    OH MY GOD YES!!!

  3. ed says:

It seems John Powell really has seperated himself from features for a while – discluding his love for all things animated.

As for Djawadi: He has yet to impress me. Portions of ‘Game of Thrones’ were fine but everything else, totally forgettable.

  4. tiago says:

Djawadi did a great job on Pacific Rim and Game of Thrones, he is one of Remote Controls’s best. But I still want to know what happened with John Powell…

  5. Macejko says:

Ok, can anyone tell me what’s this Darren Rutter bullshit? Who is he and why is he listed as a composer of Edge of Tomorrow?

    • Ds says:

I googled a little bit and it appears this guy’s a guitarist. Maybe he’s just doing the guitar on the movie, but was accidentally listed as “main composer” on imdb… Or maybe not… We’ll find out soon enough and we’ll support you all if the movie ends up being not scored by your favorite composer 😀

    • filmmusicreporter says:

No truth to that rumor, but there is indeed a new composer on board. Will post an announcement as soon as we’re allowed to.

  6. Justin Boggan says:

IMDb is user contributed. Now, that user can be you or I, or somebody from within the industry. IMDb itself doesn’t not create and edit pages, only approve submissions.

Somebody undoubtably added him in the wrong section (original music by) and not the correct section for additional composers (music dept.). It’ll take a bit to fit, as both sectiosn are handled by different staff members, and even then we are at the mercy of whether they take the submissions or not.

I’ve been trying since probably 2010 to get them to fix a film, for example, where somebody submitted the song contributor as the composer. So now that scoring credit is missing from the appropriate composer’s page. Still no correction after all this time.

    • Macejko says:

Doesn’t matter now, if Djawadi was indeed replaced…
