silkPremiering tonight on PBS as part of Masterpiece Theater is the British drama series Silk created by Peter Moffat and starring Maxine Peake, Rupert Penry-Jones, Neil Stuke, Tom Hughes, Natalie Dormer, Nina Sosanya and John MacMillan. The show’s original music is composed by Dru Masters. Silk follows two barristers on their journey to join the rank of Queen’s Counsel, known as ‘taking silk’. The legal drama premiered in the UK on BBC in 2011 and was renewed for a second season aired last year. PBS will air the show’s first season of six episodes. crackedPremiering on Friday, August 30 on ReelzChannel is the Canadian cop drama Cracked created by Tracey Forbes (Flashpoint) and starring Stefanie von Pfetten, David Sutcliffe, Luisa D’Oliveira, Karen LeBlanc and Dayo Ade. Cracked. Robert Carli (Murdoch Mysteries, Survival of the Dead) has composed the show’s score. Last night, two new original TV movies premiered on cable. Lifetime aired the drama Escape from Polygamy directed by Rachel Goldenberg and starring Mary McCormack, William Mapother, Haley Lu Richardson and Jack Falahee. Christian Davis (Zombie Hunter, the upcoming Deep Burial) has composed the score for the movie, which follows a widow who becomes the fourth sister-wife to the member of a polygamist cult.
