Ryan Amon is the composer of Neil Blomkamp’s upcoming sci-fi action drama Elysium. The movie written and directed by Blomkamp stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, Alice Braga, William Fichtner, Diego Luna and Carly Pope. The film is set on a space station occupied by the very wealthy while the rest of humanity lives on a ravaged, overpopulated Earth. Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Jumper) is producing the Media Rights Capital production. Elysium marks Amon’s first major film scoring assignment. The composer has previously written the music for numerous trailers and is the founder of the trailer music company City of the Fallen. Blomkamp previously collaborated with composer Clinton Shorter on his first feature District 9. Elysium is set to be released on August 9, 2013 by Sony Pictures.
