movie-43The ensemble all-star comedy Movie 43 produced by Peter Farrelly opened nationwide last weekend. Several composers have composed the score of the different comedy shorts within the film. William Goodrum who has previously contributed music for most of the Farrelly Brothers’ features including There’s Something About MaryMe, Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal and most recently, The Three Stooges has scored the overarching segment The Pitch starring Dennis Quaid, Greg Kinnear & Common, as well as the shorts Homeschooled directed by Will Graham and starring Naomi Watts & Liev Schreiber, The Proposition directed by Steve Carr and starring Anna Faris & Chris Pratt, Veronica directed by Griffin Dunne and starring Emma Stone & Kieran Culkin, Middle School Date directed by Elizabeth Banks and starring Chloe Grace Moretz & Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Victory’s Glory directed by Rusty Cundieff and starring Terrence Howard. David J. Hodge has written the score for the segment Superhero Speed Dating directed by James Duffy and starring Justin Long, Jason Sudekis & Kristen Bell, while Goodrum provided additional music. The Brett Ratner-directed short Happy Birthday stars Johnny Knoxville, Gerard Butler & Seann William Scott and features a score by Christophe Beck (who has previously scored the director’s Tower Heist) and Leo Birenberg. Finally, Tyler Bates has composed the score for the segment Beezel directed by James Gunn (Slither, Super) who regularly works with the composer and starring Elizabeth Banks & Josh Duhamel. Bates and Gunn have also co-written the song The Cat Song for the short. The other segments of the film, which also stars Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet and Richard Gere have no composer credited listed for the score. Movie 43 is now playing in theaters nationwide.
