  1. Thiva says:

Well…its going to be Life Of Pi.

  2. David says:

Skyfall nominated! Yeah! Suck it, old farts!

  3. Thiva says:

David @ I thought cloud atlas will nominate insted of Skyfall.

  4. Macejko says:

Once again, nothing for Patrick Doyle. I hate those people.

  5. Ds says:

Once again, they only nominate scores from films that are also nominated in other categories. Desplat’s a great composer but Rise of the Guardians was way better than Argo, musically speaking.

The “best music” Oscar is kind of a “bonus” for movies that already have plenty of nominations. It’s sad.

  6. Daniel says:

Life of Pi is going to win, it’s a great score. Great to see Thomas Newman and Alexandre Desplat there!

  7. Jollavie says:

At this point, I am just relieved all of the names are actually CAPABLE composers, that have a serious body of work. We haven’t had a lineup of names like this in years.

HOWEVER, I fear the worst for next year, in light of a recent and rather disappointing scoring announcement that has yet to be mentioned on this blog…

  8. Nacho Granda says:

Where are Giacchino (John Carter) and Shore (The Hobbit)?
