Clint Mansell Scoring ‘Filth’

clintmansellClint Mansell is currently recording his score for the comedic thriller Filth. The movie is written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Green Street Hooligans, Cass) and stars James McAvoy, Jamie Bell, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan, Imogen Poots and Joanne Frogatt. The film is based on the novel by Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) and follows an Edinburgh police detective who is manipulating everyone who stands in his way of securing a job promotion and winning back his family and daughter. Baird is also producing the thriller with Ken Marshall, Judy Styler (Moon) & Celine Rattray (The Kids Are All Right) for Maven Pictures and Jens Meurer (The Last Station, Black Book) for Egoli Tossell. Mansell’s music is being recorded at Air Studios in London.Filth is expected to be released later this year in the UK by Lionsgate. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.

Mansell is also reuniting with director Darren Aronofsky on the upcoming biblical epic Noah. The film stars Russell Crowe in the title role, alongside Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Jennifer Connelly, and Douglas Booth. Aronofsky has co-written the screenplay with John Logan (GladiatorThe Last Samuari) and is producing the film with Scott Franklin (Black Swan, The Wrestler), Ric Kidney (Shooter) and Mary Parent (Role Models). Mansell has composed the score for all of the director’s previous features including Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler and Black Swan. Noah is set to be released on March 28, 2014 by Paramount Pictures.
