Daniel Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are scoring the upcoming psychological thriller Magic Magic. The film is written and directed by Sebastián Silva (The Maid) and stars Michael Cera, Juno Temple, Emily Browning and Catalina Sandino Moreno. The movie follows a young American who is vacationing with her friends in a remote part of Chile and begins to mentally unravel and enter into a world of disturbing landscapes and crushing terror. The thriller is produced by Frida Torresblanco (Pan’s Labyrinth) for Braven Films, Christine Vachon (Boys Don’t Cry, Far from Heaven) for Killer Films and Mike White (Nacho Libre) & David Bernad (HBO’s Enlightened) for Rip Cord Productions. A release in 2013 is expected.

Bensi’s and Jurriaans’ best known previous film scoring credit is last year’s critically acclaimed indie drama Martha Marcy May Marlene starring Elizabeth Olsen and John Hawkes. They have also scored the thriller Simon Killer, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was picked up by IFC Films for US distribution, as well as the drama Desert Cathedral written and directed by Travis Gutiérrez Senger and starring Lee Tergesen, Chaske Spencer and Petra Wright. The duo also has the indie drama Bluebird written and directed by Lance Edmands and starring Adam Driver (Girls), John Slattery (Mad Men) and Margo Martindale (Justified) coming up. Release dates for all films have yet to be announced.
