Alexandre Desplat revealed in a recent interview with RedCarpetNewsTV at the London premiere of Dreamworks’s Animation’s Rise of the Guardians that he will be reuniting with director Wes Anderson on his next film The Grand Budapest Hotel. Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Saoirse Ronan are attached to star in the film produced by Anderson, Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network), Steven Rales and Jeremy Dawson (Moonrise Kingdom). The movie is set to start shooting in January of next year. The project will mark the composer’s third collaboration with the director following The Fantastic Mr. Fox and this year’s Moonrise Kingdom. Desplat also confirmed that he is attached to score George Clooney’s upcoming drama The Monuments Men. The film is directed by George Clooney who also is set to star in the film alongside Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville and Bob Balaban. The movie written by Clooney and Grant Heslov is set in the World War II era and involves a plot to protect stolen art from destruction by the Nazis. The drama is set to start shooting in March of 2013. Desplat has previously scored Clooney’s last directorial effort The Ides of March. Check out the full video interview with the composer below.

As previously reported, Desplat has also scored Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, which will be released next month. The composer recently recorded his score with the London Symphony Orchestra. Also coming up for Desplat is the French drama La trilogie marseillaise: Marius. The project reunites Desplat with Daniel Auteuil who has written, directed and also stars in the film based on a play by Marcel Pagnol (Jean de Florette). They have previously worked together on last year’s The Well Digger’s Daughter.
