Only one movie is opening wide this weekend:

Opening nationwide today after an IMAX pre-release yesterday is the 23rd James Bond movie Skyfall directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw. The film’s title song is performed by Adele and is available to download here. Thomas Newman has composed the movie’s score. Opening in limited release is the biographical drama Lincoln directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, John Hawkes, David Strathairn, James Spader, Tim Blake Nelson, Jeremy Strong, Bruce McGill and Joseph Crosmarks. The film’s music is composed by John Williams. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring Williams’ score. Also opening in limited release is the historical drama A Royal Affair directed by Nicolaj Arcel and starring Mads Mikkelsen and Alicia Vikander as Caroline Mathilda. The film’s music is composed by Gabriel Yared (The English Patient) and Cyril Aufort (Splice). MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music. Another limited release is the indie drama 28 Hotel Rooms written and directed by Matt Ross and starring Chris Messina and Marin Ireland. The film’s music is composed by Fall On Your Sword (Another Earth, Lola Versus). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the original score, as well as the songs Look at You by Lindsey Haun and A Dask of Pixie Dust by Kirk Ross. Also opening in select cities is Rick Alverson’s The Comedy starring Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim (Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!), as well as James Murphy, Kate Lyn Sheil, Alexia Rasmussen and Gregg Turkington. Jagjaguwar has released a soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs by artists including Here We Go Magic, Bill Fay, William Basinski, Gayngs, Amanaz and Donnie & Joe Emerson.
