Steven Price has signed on to score Alfonso Cuaron’s highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Gravity. The film stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock as two astronauts who have to fight to survive on a remote space station after satellite debris wipes out the rest of the crew and destroys most of the station. Cuaron has written the movie’s screenplay with his son Jonas and Rodrigo Garcia (Albert NobbsMother and Child) and is also producing the Warner Bros. Pictures and Heydey Films production with David Heyman (Harry Potter series, I Am Legend). The director’s regular cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki is lensing the film. Price is best known for his score for last year’s British alien invasion comedy Attack the Block. He most recently has also written music for the documentary Marley. Cuaron’s previous films featured music by such composers as John Tavener (Children of Men) and Patrick Doyle (A Little Princess, Great Expectations). Gravity is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2013 in both 2D and 3D.
