Trevor Jones has recently scored the adventure mini-series Labyrinth. The series is directed by Christopher Smith (Severance, Triangle) and is based on the bestseller by Kate Mosse. Adrian Hodges (My Week With Marilyn, Primeval) has adapted the material for television. The four-hour mini-series’ cast includes Jessica Brown Findlay, Tom Felton, John Hurt, Sebastian Stan, Vanessa Kirby, Emun Elliott, Tony Curran, John Lynch and Bernhard Schir. Labyrinth is set against the backdrop of the Crusades and the Cathar massacres and tells two connected stories of a young woman living in Carcassonne in 1209 and a modern-day archaeologist who makes a startling discovery in a cave in the South of France. Germany’s Tandem Communications and Scott Free Films, the companies behind The Pillars of the Earth, are producing the project with Film Afrika Worldwide and in association with Universal Production Partners. Tandem’s Tim Halkin, Ridley Scott, the late Tony Scott and Liza Marshall of Scott Free are executive producing. Jones (The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth) has previously scored numerous mini-series for TV including Hallmark’s Merlin, Cleopatra and Dinotopia. No domestic air date has been announced yet for Labyrinth.

Two unrelated productions with the same name scored by the same composer? What are the odds?

  2. bozpictures says:

I just hope this isn’t a typo confusing Trevor Morris and Trevor Jones (since Morris scored that other big medieval mini-series produced by the Scott brothers, Pillars of the Earth).

  3. Justin Boggan says:

No, it’s not Morris. See the News page on Trevor Jones’ website:

  4. I’m trying to track down the name of the tracks or soundtrack so I can purchase it, but I can’t find it on iTunes or anywhere else. I loved the music, and would love to listen to it at home. Any ideas?

There’s been no legal release as of yet, CD or download.
