SoundWorks Collection has published a new video profile on the sound and music of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. In the 9-minute video, composer Hans Zimmer and supervising sound editor and sound designer Richard King talk about their work on the final chapter in Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Check out the full video after the jump. The soundtrack for the film has been released by WaterTower Music and can be ordered or downloaded on Amazon (click here for the full details and audio clips). In addition, the composer has created the The Dark Knight Rises Z+ app for iPhone and iPod touch. The app is available in the iTunes app store and includes a special “Origins” pack that features an extra 55 minutes of music. The Dark Knight Rises is now playing in theaters.

  1. Have you heard how many copies of vinyl are going to be released of TDKR Soundtrack? Is it a limited pressing?

I’ve watched the movie and listened to the soundtrack and have found the two phenomenal – cannot congratulate and thank the creators enough. With the soundtrack, they’re a lot of codes and different downloads to the extra songs, which require certain things (like z+ app origins pack which you can only get on an iPhone- which i do not posses). I was wondering if all the bonus songs (including the trailer songs like ‘legendary’ perhaps) would eventually be put into to one big soundtrack album?

    Thank you so much
