    Awesome!

  2. Ryan says:

    Yes!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Hats Off says:

Must admit, the man works hard. He is a great composer and über-networker.

Look at his 3 upcoming films – he managed to win over Nolan from David Julyan, Ron Howard from Horner and lastly (although I realise Nolan is producing), Snyder from Bates, at least on this one. Impeccably played.

    • Machionic says:

Good for him and RCP family, not for the rest. I like Hans, have nothing against him, but this is too much.

Still, hoping for the good, if not great, score.

  4. Bernhard says:

Oh no…okay it’s a improvement on Snyders taste in music…but Hans just disappointed me since “Inception”….he just got totally lazy…except for “Rango” and “Kung Fu Panda 2” all his scores lately where totally boring and uninspired. But let’s hope he does something out of this 🙂

    • Matt C. says:

I agree with you Bernhard. I’m not so thrilled to hear the news, either. I’d actually be more excited if someone like Michael Giacchino, Don Davis or David Arnold had gotten the gig. Oh, well.

      • Bernhard says:

They’d be awesome choices! My fav is James Newton Howard, but I don’t know whether he’s that good for a superhero score. The Batams have been more Zimmer’s work and Green lantern was fun but unimpressive.

But we should remind ourselves, that this is none of Hans’ Sequel Scores…maybe he will do something interesting with it. Let’s just wait

      • Machionic says:

I heard, Don Davis really wants back in the game, but no luck.

        • Bernhard says:

That’s sad…Matrix was really good, and with Jurassic ParkIII he did well in scoring a Williams Sequel…of course it was nothing like THE John Williams, but he could do it again.

  5. matt barnes says:

For me John Powell would be best choice. His score for How To Train your Dragon is amazing.

  6. Erich says:

Terrible news! I simply hate this pseudo composer, in fact it´s no fair to call hin a composer at all, he´s just a simply keyboard man.
But it´s not his fault, the blame is for the director of the movie, he´s just don´t have any knowledge of music, for this project it would have been great Silvestri, Howard, Davis or the man itself: WILLIAMS!

  7. Machionic says:

    From his official facebook page:

“I changed my mind after speaking with Chris Nolan, the movie’s producer, and then meeting with Zack Snyder the director (I hadn’t met him when the rumor was circulating that I would be scoring MOS.) It’s not just that these two men are very persuasive. Zack has a really interesting take on the story of Superman. I asked them to wait on discussing the project further until I finished The Dark Knight Rising. I completed it 15 minutes before the announcement was released to the press. Not much of a break.

I think there isn’t a person on his earth that doesn’t like John Williams’ iconic score. My job is to invent and create. They aren’t hiring me to re-orchestrate John William’s score but to come up with new ideas. I’ll never be John so I’ll just have a bash at doing it my way.”
