Bruno Coulais is scoring the French romantic drama An Open Heart (A Coeur Ouvert). The film is directed by Marion Laine (A Simple Heart) and stars Juliette Binoche and Edgar Raminez as two surgeons whose passionate relationship is turned upside down by an unexpected pregnancy. Laine has co-written the script with Anne Le Ny. The drama, which is set in the South of France is produced by Christine Gozlan for Thelma Films and Catherine Bozorgan for Manchester Films. Nathanael Karmitz (On the Road, Certified Copy) is also involved as a co-producer for Mk2. The English working title of the project was A Monkey on My Shoulder. An Open Heart was shot last fall in Marseilles and Latin America and is currently in post-production. A release in France later this year is expected.

Coulais’ most recent projects include the French blockbuster HOUBA! On the Trail of the Marsupilami and the period drama Farewell, My Queen.
