Christian Henson is the composer of the upcoming adventure series Sinbad. The show stars Elliot Knight as the title character who is thrown out of Basra with a curse on him for having killed a man and, unable to spend more than 24 hours on land, embarks on an quest to rid himself of the curse. The cast also includes Naveen Andrews (Lost), Sophie Okoendo (Hotel Rwanda) and Timothy Spall (Harry Potter, The King’s Speech). The 13-part series is produced by Impossible Pictures, the production company behind Primeval. The project is produced by Tim Haines, Sophie Gardiner and Andrew Woodhead for Impossible Pictures and Elwen Rowlands for Sky. Sinbad is scheduled to premiere this July on Sky 1 in the UK. Henson’s music is also featured in the romantic comedy Hysteria starring Hugh Dancy and Maggie Gyllenhaal, which has just been released in US theaters this Friday. The composer’s upcoming films also include Iain Softley’s Trap for Cinderella, as well as the coming of-age drama Theatre for Dreams directed by David Scheinmann and starring Brian Cox, Natascha McElhone, Anne Reid and Philip Jackson. The film tells the fictional story of English soccer team Manchester United’s manager Matt Busby who helps an 11-year-old boy fulfil his footballing dreams. A release in the UK later this year is expected for the Bill and Ben Productions film.
