Nick Urata has signed on to score the upcoming dark comedy Arthur Newman, Golf Pro. The film is directed by commercials director Dante Ariola and stars Colin Firth, Emily Blunt, Anne Heche and Kristin Lehman. The movie centers on a man who hates his job, is estranged from his ex-wife and son, and blew his one shot at living his dream. After staging his own death and buying himself a new identity as “Arthur Newman,” a golf pro, his road trip towards his new life is interrupted by the arrival of a beautiful but fragile woman. Academy Award-nominated writer Becky Johnston (The Prince of Tides, Seven Years in Tibet) has penned the script and is also producing the film with Alisa Tager, Natalie Hill and Brian Oliver (Black Swan, The Ides of March) for Cross Creek Pictures. No word yet on a release date for the comedy. (Kraft-Engel Management)

Urata has a number of movies coming out in the next few months, including the comedy drama Ruby Sparks starring Paul Dano, Annette Bening and Zoe Kazan, the political comedy Grassroots and Dustin Lance Black’s Virginia starring Ed Harris and Jennifer Connelly.
