Tree Adams has signed on to score the ABC drama pilot Nashville. The show stars Connie Briton as the 40-year-old Nashville fading superstar Rayna James whose label requires her to team up with a teen sensation, played by Hayden Panettiere, or else face the loss of her own tour and the label’s promotion of her latest record, whose sales have been underwhelming. Powers Boothe, Eric Close, Jonathan Jackson and Charles Esten are co-starring. The drama is created by Academy Award winner Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise) who is also producing the project with R.J. Cutler (The September Issue) and Steve Buchanan. Cutler is also directing the pilot. ABC is expected to decide in May if Nashville will be picked up to series.

Adams whose best known credits include the Showtime series Californication and the comedy Reba has also scored the first season of the upcoming TNT crime drama Perception. The show stars Eric McCormack as Dr. Daniel Pierce, an eccentric neuroscience professor with paranoid schizophrenia who is recruited by the FBI to help solve complex cases. Rachael Leigh Cook, Arjay Smith and Kelly Rowan are co-starring. The series is created by Kenneth Biller and Mike Sussman (The Legend of the Seeker, Star Trek: Voyager) who are also executive producing the ABC Studios production. Perception is set to premiere on July 9, 2012 on TNT. For updates on the series, visit the official show website.
