Two new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

The first wide release of the week is the 3D fantasy film Wrath of the Titans directed by Jonathan Liebesman and starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Danny Huston, Edgar Ramirez, Rosamund Pike and Bill Nighy. The sequel to the 2010 film Clash of the Titans is scored by Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth). Also opening wide is the family fantasy comedy Mirror Mirror directed by Tarsem Singh and starring Lily Collins as Snow White, Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, as well as Armie Hammer, Sean Bean and Nathan Lane. Eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken has composed the music for the film. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as the original song I Believe in Love performed by Lily Collins. Opening in limited release is the horror thriller Intruders directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and starring Clive Owen, Daniel Brühl, Carice van Houten, Ella Purnell and Kerry Fox. The film’s music is written by Roque Banos (The Machinist, Sexy Beast). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album including Banos’ original score. Also opening in limited release is the comedy Goon directed by Michael Dowse (Take Me Home Tonight) and starring Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel, Alison Pill, Marc-André Grondin, Eugene Levy, Liev Schreiber. Ramachandra Borcar has written the film’s score. No soundtrack album is available. The film follows a slacker who discovers he has a talent for brawling and is approached by a minor league hockey coach and invited to join the team as the “muscle”. Also receiving a release in select cities is the action thriller Dark Tide directed by John Stockwell (Blue Crush) and starring Halle Barry, Olivier Martinez and Ralph Brown. Mark Sayfritz is the composer of the film and no soundtrack album has been announced. The film is based on a true story and centers on a shark expert whose business has been failing since a shark attack killed a fellow diver under her command and is being presented with a lucrative opportunity: lead a thrill-seeking millionaire businessman on a dangerous shark dive. The final limited release of the week is the documentary Bully directed by Lee Hirsch, which is being released by the Weinstein Company.  The film’s score is written by Ion Furjanic and the indie band Bishop Allen (Justin Rice and Christian Rudde). No word on a soundtrack release. The documentary on peer-to-peer bullying in schools across America follows five kids and families over the course of a school year. Stories include two families who have lost children to suicide and a mother awaiting the fate of her 14-year-old daughter who has been incarcerated after bringing a gun on her school bus.  More information can be found on the official movie website.
