Paul Englishby is the composer of the upcoming political thriller Page Eight. The BBC production centers on a long-serving M15 officer who is forced to quit his job in order to find the truth behind a mystery file which threatens its stability. The movie stars Bill Nighy, Rachel Weisz, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Felicity Jones, Judy Davis and Ewen Bremner. Page Eight is written and directed by Oscar-nominated screenwriter David Hare (The Reader, The Hours) who wrote his first original (non-adapted) script in 20 years for the project. Scott Rudin (The Social Network, No Country for Old Men) is acting as one for the film’s executive producer. The project marks Englishby’s first high profile feature project since he scored the 2009 Academy Award-nominated drama An Education starring Carey Mulligan, Peter Sarsgaard and Alfred Molina. Englishby has recently also been scoring the BBC sci-fi series Outcasts. The project starring Liam Cunningham, Jamie Bamber and Eric Mabius follows the struggles of settlers on the fictional planet of Carpathia after a nuclear conflict forces them to flee earth. The eight-part series aired earlier this year on BBC and is scheduled to make its debut on June 18, 2011 on BBC America. To find out more about Outcasts, visit BBC’s official series webpage.
