TV Squad reports that Ramin Djawadi has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming HBO series Game of Thrones. He is replacing composer Stephen Warbeck who was originally scoring the project as reported last year. The fantasy drama based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire stars Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey and will have its premiere on April 17, 2011 on HBO. Djawadi will score all 10 episodes of the show’s first season. For more information on the show, watch the teaser trailer below and visit the official show website.

I am really worried about this guy! His credits and his work up to know are sub-par! HBO should not have left him anywhere near this project! To say he sucks donkey balls would be too respectful.

Ramin Djawadi is a genius. HBO did a shrewd move by signing him up. The opening theme is very addictive and well composed.

  4. Hrolf says:

I started watching the series because I heard the title score… it is hauntingly beautiful and a very nice combination of mediaeval instruments and a modern military song…
