Michael Giacchino has been hired to score the upcoming horror romance Let Me In. In the movie, a bullied young boy befriends a young female vampire who lives in secrecy with her guardian. The movie is directed by Matt Reeves, who previously worked with Giacchino on Cloverfield. Let Me In is a remake of the Swedish vampire thriller Let The Right One In from 2008 and stars Chloe Moretz, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Richard Jenkins. Overture is set to release the movie on October 1.

Giacchino also recently scored the pilot for the new JJ Abrams-produced TV show Undercovers which will premiere this fall season on ABC. No word yet on how involved Giacchino will be in the show after the pilot.

Other upcoming projects for the busy composer include the animation Arthur Christmas and the Andrew Stanton-directed John Carter of Mars as previously reported on this page.
